Early staging drivers can turn a simple shared-filesystem experiment into kernel panics, missing build dependencies, and silent metadata corruption. A useful caution for anyone weighing bleeding-edge distributed storage against mature alternatives.

Helps revive aging PowerPC Macs with flash storage by separating yaboot-readable kernel files from a wear-conscious root filesystem—while flagging the kernel and X stability trade-offs to test before committing.

Save days of blind debugging when a Debian root filesystem appears to freeze on Broadcom-based OpenWRT hardware. The kernel’s hidden MIPS_FPU_EMU setting—and a small EHCI symbol fix for USB 2.0—turns an unbootable router into a usable system.

Give LXC-hosted guests direct local terminals when network access or `lxc-console` isn’t enough. The low-level `inittab`, cgroup device, and TTY configuration changes help carve physical consoles out of the host without sacrificing container isolation.

Practical notes on getting early LXC running on an aging Debian release—covering kernel compatibility, cgroups, bridged networking, and broken bootstrap defaults—help turn a minimal host into lightweight test instances without the overhead of full virtualization.

Revive diskless installs and lab provisioning with Debian’s PXE stack, using Lenny-era paths and a direct boot label when the expected menu fails to appear.
